In Memoriam: CU Regent Emeritus Paul Schauer

The University of Colorado is mourning the passing of Regent Emeritus Paul Schauer. Regent Emeritus Schauer served on the Board of Regents from 2002-2008, representing the 6th Congressional District, including a term as chair of the Board of Regents in 2006. Prior to that, he served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1979 to 1998. Paul was a dedicated public servant and a tireless supporter of higher education, both as a legislator and a regent. Above all, he was a great champion of CU who was beloved by his many friends and colleagues within the university.
Paul’s passing is a loss for the CU community and the state of Colorado. However, he leaves an enduring legacy. In lieu of flowers, the Schauer family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s and Cognition Center Fund at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Contributions in memory of Regent Emeritus Schauer can also be mailed to the University of Colorado Foundation at P.O. Box 17126, Denver, CO 80217-9155.
