Judith E. N. Albino
Judith Albino, CU's first woman president, served in that role from 1991-95 and is currently the principal investigator and director of the Center for Native Oral Health Research at CU Anschutz, the only NIH-funded center for research in oral health disparities focused on the American Indian/Alaska Native population.
The center’s work in Early Childhood Caries relies heavily on social and behavioral approaches, including motivational interviewing and culturally adapted strategies for provider-parent alliances.
Albino is a health psychologist; her ColoradoSPH appointment is in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health, and she also is a faculty member of the CU School of Dental Medicine.
In addition, Albino participates in program planning and instructional activities for the Clinical Faculty Scholars and Leadership Development Programs of the CCTSI Education, Training and Career Development Core.
