Dear CU Community,
The University of Colorado applauds and supports recent actions by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to strengthen the DACA program through the federal rule-making process. While we are tracking the litigation currently before the Fifth Circuit Court and the potential impacts to the program, our position remains clear and consistent: We urge Congress to pass legislation that provides a permanent solution and a pathway to citizenship, so that current and new participants in the program can have certainty in the pursuit of their education and careers. Many students, faculty and staff at the University of Colorado who have been or remain part of the DACA program are valued and contributing members of our university community who enrich CU’s culture and our society. Over the past decade of the program, DACA recipients have made significant contributions to our university, state and nation. They become business owners, highly skilled employees, homeowners, members of the military, taxpayers and more. CU has been a strong supporter of the program since its inception, and we remain committed to its success and the success it fosters among our students, faculty and staff.
Sincerely,
